| you've served me well. |
[Apr. 25th, 2009|09:41 pm] |
livejournal has served me well for . . .say 4 years?
though i haven't been blogging, maybe on and off. it did share some of my ups and downs (mostly downs when i start writing). nevertheless, i love it's "read more" functions and private entries. so yes, LJ you served me well.
these days, because i seldom write, posting pictures (even taking them) has become a thing of the past. what's worse is that when i want to upload a picture, it takes me gazillion years to do so (uploading to imageshack before posting an entry). and it's becoming a hazzle and more of an irk to do so.
therefore, i'm moving.
moving to somewhere convenient. somewhere to start afresh. LJ is getting too stiffling right now.
for now, LJ will serve as my shopping tool/a place for private entries. :)
STARTING AFRESH.

[Apr. 19th, 2009|02:43 pm] |
these past 2 months have been my "maxing-out" month. see, i set a max amount to spend every month for "retail therapy" for new products or random things i see. i maxed out the limit for both Mar & Apr by 200%. mostly because of my job/pressure, and because i was overseas. there were too many random things i had to buy.
i went to Melbourne, London and Ireland, total for about 3 weeks.
and because i seriously needed some retail therapy. . .to offset the anxiety/anger/pressure/blues, i had to spend some $$ on the things the cosmetics/skincare that i love buying.
before i started work (when $$ is limited) i spent most of my money on fashion, mostly basics because to me, they are worth investing in because they never run out. i only had 1 of each for foundation, blusher, cleanser, toner and moisturiser.
after working, most of my money goes out to cosmetics/skincare. did not realise when this habit started but now i own countless foundation (liquid/powder), blushers, cleansers, exfoliants, moisturisers, serums and whatnots. gee. i swear my vanity swivel cupboard is worth a least $3K with all the products in there.
nope. i don't feel guilty. instead, i feel quite happy when i see certain product sitting there(of course i use it..) that i own that product. of course, i'm spoilt for choice these days, i have to alternate my products every week.
i digress.
so what i wanted to say was that i have developed a habit for shopping overseas. and that is when i see cosmetics/skincare, that is the uppermost of my concern over souvenirs/clothing/shoes. yes. i used to LOVE buying shoes overseas, but with my bunion problem, i hardly am able to purchase nice heels that fits me and solves my problem...so OUT. in departmental stores (overseas), i go straight to the first floor for cosmetics/skincare and get straight out when there's nothing much on sale/cheaper.
anyway, i bought quite a lot of items from MEL/UK/SG/TW and gathered them together for a picture. . .
 mostly skincare/cosmetics
skincare. mostly from TW spree (Beauty DIY and Shills) and the Face Shop Suhyang Moisturiser (can't rem if that was what Lizzie rec) Shills is not that fantastic afterall.
BB CREAMS!! i bought another Legere Water Drop Shiny Pearl but it's not in here. these are great! i have to alternate them though, because i only have 1 face. (yes, i realised) the Revlon Skin Matching Foundation is so cool! i found out from here, so i got it from Drugstore. it did match my skintone, but the oil control is not THAT fantastic, so i need a primer/base with it...
Foundations After hearing so much about Eyeko (and people spreeing it online), I stopped by Superdrug in London to try it. quite cheap in the local pharmacy, cost only about 3.99 pounds for most Eyeko products. Oh and from reviews from kimoko of RMK liquid foundation, i went to Isetan(Scotts) to get it. i love it, doesn't look like i have make up on but the coverage covers most of my blemishes and stays on well. :)
Blushers (ilu) had a last minute shopping in Myers (Melbourne) and I rushed there to get Benefit products. although it was much more expensive than in US sprees, i just had to get it cos i didn't want to wait for it to arrive.
the Eyeko Fat Balm is quite interesting, a multipurpose balm for cheeks and lips.
so that's mostly what i bought over the past few weeks.
this week, i was over-stressed and went walking to buy a magazine from Kinokuniya, but it turned out i bought much more. . .
started with this only,

wanted to get these magazines for the longest period of time. . .i'm a fan of the show. but it's in chinese though, and i'm definitely going to finish it.
wandered around takashimaya after purchasing the new version of Fancl Cleansing Oil and walked into Body Shop.
initially i wanted to get the Wild Cherry Body Butter i saw in UK, but didn't buy. but it led to. . . the Japanese Cherry Blossoms was to compensate my missed trip to Japan for cherry blossoms. :( smells good, the EDT and Body Lotion.
:) went home a tad broker but happier girl.
